Frequently Asked Questions

Is Synetic's IT asset disposal HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. Synetic Technologies operates as a HIPAA-compliant ITAD provider. NAID AAA Certified Data Destruction directly supports HIPAA requirements for chain-of-custody, employee screening, and independently audited destruction processes. Synetic also holds R2v3 certification and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications. Every device receives a Certificate of Destruction with audit-grade chain-of-custody documentation.

How does Synetic ensure data is destroyed beyond recovery on retired healthcare devices?

Synetic follows NIST 800-88 Rev. 1 media sanitization standards on every retired healthcare device. Hard drives are either physically shredded to particle size or wiped using verified data sanitization procedures, with the method matched to the chain-of-custody requirements of the engagement. NAID AAA certification confirms that the chain of custody, the destruction process, and the destruction equipment are independently audited annually.

Does Synetic handle hospital data center equipment, not just end-user devices?

Yes. Synetic disposes of the full range of healthcare technology assets: end-user devices like laptops, desktops, tablets, and workstations on wheels; data center equipment including servers, storage arrays, and SAN hardware; network infrastructure such as switches, routers, and firewalls; and AV equipment from conference rooms, operating room displays, and digital signage. The same NAID AAA and R2v3 chain-of-custody controls apply across every equipment category.

What documentation does a healthcare organization receive after an ITAD pickup?

Each engagement produces three deliverables: a serialized asset inventory at pickup, a Certificate of Destruction listing every drive destroyed with method and date, and a reconciliation report comparing what was picked up versus what was destroyed or resold. Healthcare compliance teams use this documentation to support HIPAA audit and records-retention requirements.

Can Synetic handle device disposition across multiple hospital sites or clinics?

Yes. Synetic's first-party logistics team coordinates multi-site pickups across Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska directly, with no third-party brokers. Health systems with broader regional or national footprints are supported through Synetic's mid-market ITAD model, purpose-built for organizations with 500 to 5,000 employees and multiple operating locations.
