Synetic Technologies Partners with Operation Breakthrough to Support Student Learning

At Synetic Technologies, we believe in the power of community partnerships to drive meaningful change. Over the past few years, we have had the honor of collaborating with Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City-based non-profit that works to provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education. Together, we are working to provide students with the technology and resources they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Operation Breakthrough’s Legacy of Empowerment

Founded in 1971, Operation Breakthrough began with a mission to provide a safe, loving, and educational environment for children of the working poor. Over the years, the organization has grown, but its vision remains the same: to ensure that all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Today, Operation Breakthrough serves as a vital lifeline for families, offering advocacy, emergency aid, and education to those in need.

IgnitionLabSynetic’s Role in Supporting Technology and Education

Understanding the importance of technology in today’s educational landscape, Synetic Technologies has partnered with Operation Breakthrough to support its mission in a unique way. Through our IT asset donation program, we’ve worked with clients to direct the resale value of their refurbished devices to Operation Breakthrough. This initiative has not only provided the organization with much-needed technology but has also allowed them to reallocate funds that would have been spent on tech equipment to other critical areas.

As a result of these donations, Operation Breakthrough has been able to upgrade student and teacher technology, equipping their IT labs with modern devices that enhance the learning experience.

"Connecting with Synetic has been a big boost for Operation Breakthrough. We have received more than 250 laptops through Synetic as well as dollars we can use to purchase software. Our students and staff love working with such up-to-date equipment, and the gifts allow us to direct resources we would have spent on computers to other needs of our children,” says Jennifer Howe Heinemann, Director of Stewardship and Planned Giving at Operation Breakthrough. “The Synetic staff has even taken time to tour our programs and find out what our technology needs are. They are advocates for our students!"

A Hands-On Learning ExperienceIMG_0457

On Friday, July 26, the Synetic team had the privilege of welcoming students from Operation Breakthrough to our facility. During their visit, the students were given a firsthand look at IT Asset Management and Disposition services. They toured our facility, learning how assets are processed, how data is securely and effectively removed from devices, and how materials are recycled sustainably.

This tour was particularly impactful for Ignition Lab students involved in the Computer Technology program, where they gain hands-on experience in working with PCs. These students learn to take apart and assemble PCs and laptops, diagnose problems, and repair or replace parts—skills that are essential in today’s tech-driven world.

Supporting the Ignition Lab: A Hub for Future Innovators

Our partnership extends beyond donations and facility tours. Synetic Technologies is also proud to support Operation Breakthrough’s Ignition Lab, a workforce development program that provides 300 students, ages 14 to 18, with real-world experience in fields such as graphic design, computer technology, mechatronics, and more. The Ignition Lab, housed in an old muffler shop purchased by Eighty-Seven and Running, opened its doors in Fall 2021 and has since become a critical resource for students seeking to explore careers in STEM and other technical fields.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, Synetic Technologies remains committed to supporting Operation Breakthrough and the incredible work they do for children and families in our community. By providing technology, resources, and hands-on learning opportunities, we hope to empower the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders.

Our partnership with Operation Breakthrough is more than just a collaboration—it’s a shared commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of students who deserve every opportunity to succeed. We are proud to stand alongside Operation Breakthrough as advocates for these students and look forward to continuing our work together in the years to come.
